There are many resources available to assist you with your genealogy journey!  Those on this page are just a few to get you started.


Some databases require a subscription fee to use them, such as Ancestry.  Don't fret!  Your local library offers access to Ancestry and other databases for free, and your local Family History Center has several subscription websites accessible on their computers.


Hawaii Resources
  • Hawaii State Archives - Excellent digital database and a wealth of information about the archives!
  • UH Manoa Hamilton Library - Lots of beginning genealogy resources.
  • Office of Hawaiian Affairs - Although geared toward Native Hawaiians, their forms and beginning information is great for all ethnic groups.
  • Bishop Museum Library & Archives Catalog - one of the richest collections; appointment necessary
  • Hawaii Department of Health - Vital Records - Essential resource for Hawaii genealgy
